After my redesign of the print version of Chicago magazine, the online iteration was ripe for a reexamination of the user experience. There was inconsistent branding and a lack of alignment with the visual identity of the magazine.

My goal was to strengthen the user experience while creating a sense of community and pride in the city the magazine represented.

Key strategies included optimizing navigation, reorganizing the site’s hierarchy, creating cohesion and synergy with the print magazine, and showcasing the publication’s beautiful imagery prominently in social media.
