Magazine Cover Design

Client: Chicago magazine
Roles: Design Director, Designer, Producer, Editor

A magazine’s cover is the first thing a reader sees, whether on a newsstand, in a store, or online. A cover tells a reader everything they need to know: content, quality, style, branding, identity, and personality.

From concepting to art direction to typography, every cover was carefully crafted to push newsstand sales and a strong and relevant narrative that Chicago magazine is the authority of the city.

As such, Chicago’s covers stand out in a competitive market, and play a key role in marketing, promotion, and reader engagement.
